Get That "Just Do It" Feeling
With Nike Running Shoes
I used to love New Balance
running shoes. You see, I have wide feet. It is almost impossible for me to
find a running shoe that fits me right. New Balance shoes fit me perfectly.
There is no hype to them. They have no big celebrity endorsements, and very
little advertising. They simply made good, no-frills running shoes that
worked.
Since then, however, I have switched brand loyalty. Nowadays, I can't get
enough of Nike running shoes. I don't think it is the quality of the Nike
running shoes. They are not particularly well-made sneakers. They are good
enough, but they are very overpriced for what they are. You can find a
generic sneaker that is every bit as good for about a third of the money.
What I love about Nike running shoes, however, is the image that they
convey. The “just do it” advertisement has really gotten to me.
You see, the commercials for Nike running shoes really speak to me at a
level that other shoes commercials don't. Just do it expresses this can-do
attitude that some people have and others don't. Some people spend endless
time considering their options and picking out the best possible one. In my
opinion, however, it is better to close your eyes and jump into it. That is
why I like Nike running shoes. Don't think, just act. That's my philosophy
and the philosophy of Nike as well.
I have to say that since I started getting my cross country running shoes
from Nike, I get more respect in the gym. For some reason that I can't
understand, you will never meet a group of people with more brand loyalty
than athletes. Workout folks are the biggest herders that I have ever met.
If you aren't wearing Nike running shoes, you had better have a good reason
in their opinions. When I was wearing New Balance, I did not warrant a
second glance.
With Nike running shoes, however, I actually got my first date from the
health club. I have never been able to successfully ask a girl out at the
gym before, but now it seems to work. I am wearing the right clothes, so
people think I have the right attitude. I don't know why it works, but it
seems to. When people see you as one of them, they are more likely to open
up to you. With my Nike running shoes, I fit in.
